Dale Hayes
Dale Hayes, the Boys 15-17 category winner at the 1969 Junior World Golf Championships winner, became the youngest European Tour winner (18 years, 290 days) when he won the 1971 Spanish Open, a record only surpassed in 2009. Hayes won four times in Europe, 13 times on the local circuit and won the SA Tour money list in 1975, 1976 and 1979. He partnered Bobby Cole to victory in the 1976 World Cup of Golf. Since his retirement, Hayes remained involved with golf as a course designer, broadcaster, public speaker and host of golf days and clinics.
